Fresh-Produce Street Market in Quito: Mercado de Iñaquito

If you live in the north of the city or in the Carolina Park area like many expats, be sure to check out the MERCADO DE IÑAQUITO on Iñaquito and Villalengua streets.

The market is open everyday in the mornings and early afternoons and a great place to buy fresh veggies, fruits and meats at more reasonable prices than the supermarkets.

Shop like the Ecuadorians, shop on the street! Remember all prices are negotiable.

Expat Hang-out: English Fellowship Church Quito

If you’re looking for an English language non-denominational Christian service, I’d recommend this church at N39-172 AV BRASIL in north Quito.

Service is twice in the mornings on Sundays, Sunday School is also available for kids. The church is quite popular with several dozen attendees (mostly foreigners) each Sunday.

All are welcome. Great for meeting other fellow expats and travelers.

Restaurant Review: Bom Kafe Quito

I had to mention this place because I feel they serve the BEST breakfasts in Quito… hands down!

Anything from their traditional Humitas to Empanadas to Quimbolitos… be sure to try them all! Prices are reasonable too, starting around $2 for their delicious eats.

Located on the corner of AV AMERICAS Y VILLA LENGUA.

Quito Must-See: Plaza Foch

Any trip to Quito would not be complete without a night out in the Plaza Foch area. This place is HOPPING… I mean packed with people literally from Wednesday through Saturday after 8PM.

The area around this plaza is loaded with bars, clubs and restaurants… just ask any taxi to take you there and they’ll know it! Have fun…leave the kids at home!
