Slow Gains in Telephone Penetration in Ecuador

According to the National Census Board in Ecuador, in 2010 only 33.4% of households had access to a land-line telephone, while in 2001 the figure was 32.2%.

Many have replaced their land-line in Ecuador for cellular phones, but truth is, both types of telecommunications in Ecuador continue to be expensive compared to North America.
