What is the best way to get from Quito to Canoa? Would like to rent a car, but concerned about safety. Any info or experiences?

Hey, you could rent a car starting around $30 a day in Quito outside the airport or you could take a bus.
From Quito to Canoa would take around 8 hrs and cost around $10 by bus.
There are many bus lines, one that serves the coast from Quito is PANAMERICANA located on Colon.
