I have a nearly new 2010 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck I’d like to bring to Ecuador when I make my permanent move this spring. I was told that only current year vehicles could be imported, but recently told that vehicles up to 4 years old can be imported. Anyone know the facts?

Yes the car can be up to four yrs old but that is including the date it was manufactured..but you are okay also he value cannot exceed 20,000 dollars and the size of the engine cannot exceed I think 2.3l. Think about it might be easier and cheaper to get a around in taxi depending what citi you end up moving to!!! Good luck

Still the problem with the Tundra is cubic inches. I think the max is still 2.5L. Difficult to import anything besides a compact due to this. Amazing truck though, just alittle expensive.

There is a moratorium on importing vehicles. I suggest you check with a customs broker or attorney before shipping a car or truck. I can send you the contact info for both a customs broker and an attorney if you don’t have one in Ecuador. My email is tdg@safe-mail.net
