We are due to go back to Canada on April 11, our passport says April 2 which will be 99 days here in ecuador. Will we be fined at the airport, or should we just change our airline tickets to April 2? We had planned to go out of Ecuador to Peru for a few days, but also heard that we could not do that and have since not wanted to. What is our best way?

Hello, although there is no more fine for overstaying your visa in Ecuador, I still would not overstay as you will not be able to re-enter Ecuador for 9 months upon exit.
You could leave to Peru and come back in Ecuador, they will let you back in, despite what you may have read elsewhere, but they may not give you the full 90 days on your second stay. Dom
