I need to find out if at the airport in Quito besides taxis are there also drivers with a van or a truck for hire willing to drive to Tabacubo???
I will be arriving to Quito’s airpot with my husband and 2 children with a total of 12 bags (8 weigth 70lbs and 4 of them 15lbs)We are considering to move there and we are bringing as much as we can. My husband lost his job and our budget is tight.
I need transportation from the airport to Tabacundo the only place we know through refrence and were we have found a temporary rental.
Please advice or do we need to get 2 taxis???how safe are they???How much will the cost???

Yes, there are vans at the airport. We just moved to Cuenca from the USA with 10 bags. We took a van from the airport to our hotel in Quito, and since we liked him, we called the driver back the next morning and had him drive us from Quito to Cuenca. It cost $300. To Tabacubo should probably be about 1/2 that.

I am just a 1 man band / independant group – day tour / airport shuttle operator, when and what time of day or night does your flight arrive?

sandia, it looks like you’d be heading “towards” cotacochi, and maybe this real estate agent from cotachachi would know van drivers to assist you, just a thought but worth a try, Her name Mickey (American) she’s probably helped clients obtain transportation, good luck, Tracy
