Hi Harry, there is no NetFlix in Ecuador, it doesnt work down here. But Im sure you can find a work around, maybe try using a VPN.

A beer (40 ounce approx) costs $1 in the street stores, in bars beers cost 1-3$. Cocktails $3-5.

hope that helps, Dom

Hey Dom
not familiar with VPN But I really appreciate your answers!! How do YOU watch movies? What about spices?? are the usual available Chili powder, Cumin, Pickeled Jalapenos? Do they eat tortillas there or some semblence?
I hope you don’t find my questions ridiculous…Looks like I will be flying American Airlines do you have any idea how many bags I can bring and how much for each…Am contacting AA to find out but glad to hear any advice.

Thanks
Ricky

Hi Ricky, sorry but not really any Tortillas like I think your talking about here in Ecuador. Ecuadorian cuisine is totally different than Mexican.

Burned copies of movies available pretty much everywhere for around $1.00…….

I have become quite fond of Pilsener which is the most common beer in Ecuador and maybe thats why I usually buy it…..but Club and Biela are alittle better quality beer but slightly more costly and harder to find. American imports can be found but not as common and only in major cities in larger store.

Netflix is now in Ecuador…we dont use it yet but are working on it…we use DirecTV and are very happy with that sercive for both our TV and movies.

When my wife and I came in AA would allow 5 bags each and if you are flying coach you get 2 free but the other ones for extra baggage was $100 each…keeping it at 50 pounds each. We did find a way around that by booking through LAN and AA from a USA gateway…seems the last carrier to take you out of the country is the one that the baggage rules apply from…so LAN did not have an amount of bags restriction so we traveled with 14 together plus carry ons. Just an interesting tip to try.

Hope that helped some
