I’m from sunny Southern California U.S and It’s almost-always summertime Beach weather here , when is it summertime in Ecuador ??? is it the same as over here June – September ??

Keep in mind we have 4 diverse types of climates here and things are not exactly like it is there. For example, on our part of the northern coast the rainy season runs from December through February normally in which it is the hottest but mostly because of the humidity (its not bad but you get some). The rest of the year is gorgeous weather. The southern coast is slightly different weather patterns although those patterns have changed over the years. For the most part you can say that the hottest feeling months are December through March. Temperatures average 72 to 87 all year long along the coast.

Summer South of the equator is the opposite of winter in the land North of the equator. Along the equator (where Ecuador lies) there are very little variation in seasons. So it is like summer all year. It is VERY hot along the beaches of Ecuador. Quito, the capital of Ecuador and the second largest city, is on a mountainous plain over 9000 ft above sea level. Also Cuenca, the third largest city, is over 8000 ft above sea level. Both of these cities have around 70 degrees for a high (plus or minus 5 degrees) year round. The low each night is around 50 degrees (plus or minus 5 degrees). So the weather in those two places is near perfect year round. The best of the two is Cuenca. It has a population of just over 300,000 and just over 700,000 in the metro area. It is inexpensive–An efficiency apartment furnished costs $250 per month. A nice 3 bedroom 2 bath house could cost about $500 per month. Of course you can spend more for more. A maid will cost about $150 per month. This region is full of wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables. It has theaters and museums. Sounds good? Take me along!
