After major spinal surgery and total knee replacements I have a chronic pain problem which is controlled by prescription medications such as oxycodone. Is there a problem getting such medications? Are there pain management clinics?

Medicine in Ecuador ranges from good to excellent. There are a number of US/Canada/UK doctors present, as well as local physicians well-trained and very experienced.
One of the first items to do in any country is to locate a reliable physician. Should he/her concur with your needs, the pharmacies in Quito, Guayaquil and Manta are well-stocked with current medications, including those providing sophisticated pain control.
And, the costs of prescriptions are very inexpensive when compared to State-side prices. They are made by the same USA manufacturers.
I do not use my Medicare Part D, as purchasing the same medications in Ecuador prevents paying anywhere near the “doughnut hole”.
