Is there anyway around the 90 max out of country for 2 years requirement? Who and when do they check to see if you have been out of country more than allowed? Are there exceptions say for medical treatment etc ? I’m 70 years old and two
years is a long time for me plus it takes continuous residency of 6 months for me to get a residency visa for my wife’s European county. Can’t do both at the same time. ((( Sometimes the Minister of Whatever has the power to make exceptions to a rule if he/she feels it’s in best interest of the country etc etc.

Why would you need residency to two countries at once? come on now.

As I have researched it there is no way as of yet around this rule. You need to be in Ecuador at least 9 months a year for first two years, period. Dom

I can tell you first hand there is no way around this requirment, not even for medical emergencies…we tried to assist a client with this and we went all the way to the minister…answer…NO.
