We’re looking for an apartment, condo, or home on or near a beach for a long term rental for retirement, preferrably with some English speaking Expats in the community for friends. Our budget is $2,500 per month.

For $2500 a month you can find a very nice place on the coast of Ecuador! heres one less expensive option I know of with a nice oceanview… http://ecuadorrealestate.org/house-for-rent-in-montanita/ saludos, Dom

Hi Beachbum, I’m from across the bay in St Pete, Fl and plan to move to Ecuador soon. Although some of these posts have me a little concerned about the cost of living. I visited in February and found Ecuador to be delightful and the prices fairly inexpensive. But like many on this forum, I will be looking along the coast, (on ot near) for a small place in a midsized community that is relatively inexpensive. I am hoping for others to pass along tips and advise. Thanks!

I have some condos for rent in Bahia de Caraquez and San Vicente right across the bridge. Prices vary but range from $450 per month to $900 for a penthouse…all ocean front or ocean view buildings. For $2500 per month you will be able to live in a penthouse in just about any big city here or you can rent a very large and nice home on the beach and the price would not be that much.
