I am looking for a rental property in ecuador with a budget of $40-$60k with the biggest ROI. What areas would you recommend and how could I research more on the rental markets? I’m leaning towards Playas,Salinas, Montanita, maybe even Quito. Do you have anty suggestions? Me and my wife are moving there(she is Ecuadorian) with our two kids. We are investing our life savings so we want to make the most of it. Thanks for any advice you have to offer, it is much appriciated, that goes to anyone else with any suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Mike;

I think you are on to the areas with the largest tourist or expat visits. I dont have any good information on Quito but I would think that market would be very different from the coastal markets. The only issue I see is your budget and what it might buy for the hotter markets like Salinas etc. Not sure what is available in those markets and what the ROI might be, however in Salinas you might want to contact Hector and Kimberly Quintana at IEI.Ecuador@gmail.com
They are very helpful and know that area very well.
Hope that helped some.

Hi Mike,

Salines is very expensive now and not much room to grow.

Playas is to close to Guayaquil and if you every been there you will know to stay as far away from there as possible.

Manta is to commercial. and a difficult place to relax

but just north of Manta starts to get real nice.

prices are still reasonable until you get to Canoa

Bahias nice just not alot of options, you will need to spend some time investigating properties.

My friend Dave is retired in Bahia and knows most the coast.as well as the rest of ecuador maybe he can help you.
Good luck,

There is a 1 bedroom in a very nice area of Manta with ocean view available for $58,000. It should get rent of $300 per week. If you want more info. drop me a line at bflemming@pacbell.net .
