When moving to Ecuador, can I bring my Hunting and Trap Rifles with me?

You will need a special permit from the POLICE and Military command in Ecuador in order to carry guns in Ecuador. Id just leave them at home. Dom

I am curious as to what a “trap Rifle” is.
I have been a marksman/hunter for decades, including many sessions sending skeet and traps to their eternal reward.

I have never heard of decimating a trap with a rifle.

Shotgun is the weapon of choice, with No. 12 pellet shotshell [correct word] being the most popular.

I have used double barrel and single pumps (“improved cylinder”. Started with a 12-bore and graduated to a 28-gauge double, and finally a .410.

Rifle? If true, what calibre?

Rifles may be different then hand guns but getting any weapon into Ecuador carries risks. You may need to speak to a customs specialist and an attorney that deals with this.
