I want to check out Ecuador as a place to retire.
What type of visa should you get if you want to stay in Ecuador when you visit? Is their a type of visa that allows you to rent an apartment and open a bank account quickly?

Get the 12-9 6 month tourist visa before you come, with that visa its a bit easier to get an account but still not guaranteed… its more who you know in Ecuador when opening an account until you are a resident (in which time its easy).
