I’m thinking about buying a place in Ecuador. My plan would be to spend 4 or 5 months living there and renting it as a vacation rental when I’m not there. I live in Spain at present and would keep a place here and do the same thing. High season for vacation rentals here in Spain is June to September. My hope would be to spend those months in Ecuador……would that work….is there such a thing as a high season in Ecuador?

There is a demand due to so many rentals becoming unavailable as the owners occupy their properties.
Keep in mind some buildings will restrict rentals. Make sure you know the buildings rules prior to buying.

High season along the coast is a great rental time and most of the rentals will be spoken for, sometimes for months in advance. The rates rise to good levels and there is not much if any vacancy during these times. There are also weeks of high rental during different times of the year as well.

High season in the Manta area is November through March. Many North Americans flee the winter. About half of them rent out their properties when not in use.
