Getting my pets into Ecuador

Hi Everyone, I am moving to Ecuador on Nov. 1st and am needing to know the “facts” about getting my pets, 2 dogs and 1 ferret, to Ecuador. I was told by an airline rep (Cargo dept.)that I HAD TO HAVE a “Broker” be the go between when my pets arrived in Quito and that it would cost me $150-$400! Is this correct? If not, what is going to be required to get them to me safely? I’m so confused as to what’s right and what’s being told to me; FACTS PLEASE! Thanks, Cautionplus

hey, you should have no problem with clearing customs with your pets if they are domestic animals, the farret may be a problem as exotic animals have a more difficult time getting through.
Please check with the Ecuadorian Embassy in the US for specific requirements before coming down, plus whatever your airline says is probably the advice you need to follow.
good luck, dom
