I have been getting your news letter for a while now and really enjoy it. Lots of good information for people living in Ecuador and those of us fixing to move there. I have an unlocked dual SIM phone and it has a Movistar SIM card and a Claro SIM card with two local telephone numbers. I haven’t used it in almost two years and was wondering if when we come back in October if I can just reload minutes on the phone or if I need a new SIM card with a new number?

Unfortunately SIM cards get discontinued if they are not ‘recharged’ and remain unused for 3 months or longer. It’s easy enough to get new sims but it means having new numbers. Hope this helps.
