Bahia or Salinas, where’s the best winter weather

Hoping to winter in Ecuador (December thru April) and am wondering which area has the best weather. Seems like I’ve heard that Salinas is more desert like, so does that mean less rain and lower humidity during these months?

Also have heard that Bahia/Canoa gets more rain during these months, although mostly at night, does that mean more humidity? And what about the temperature, does it vary much between Bahia and Salinas Dec.-April?…….thanks a ton

Hi Pat, not sure about the Canoa area during those months, I wrote the other moderator, Larry, can help with that one.

Salinas during those months is hotter and has more sun. Temps often range from 70-85 degrees and lots of dry sun.

Low humidity for sure, very desert like climate there.
