According to the National Census Board of Ecuador, the average family size in Ecuador hs decreased over the last decade from 1.8 children per home in 2001 to 1.6 in 2010.

Additionally, the % of married homes decreased from 35.86% to 32.5% in the same period. The divorce rate increased from 1.4% to 1.9%.

This confirms what I’ve witnessed locally here in the housing arket, that over the last few years the demand for suites (one bedroom apartments) has significantly increased as well as for 2 bedroom apartments as well whereas the demand for 3 bedroom places seems to have reached its peak.
